Since 2015, Citibank UAE has had a requirement for retail banking clients to maintain a minimum balance of 35,000 AED – or multi-currency AED equivalent – for a basic checking/current account with a debit card. Citibank UAE also charges 1 percent of the traded amount for each transaction plus 0.2 percent annual custody fees based on the assets’ average balance in custody (charged quarterly).
