Foundation

Maybank was founded back in 1960 and is now the biggest bank in Malaysia when it comes to market capitalization and total assets, as well as one of biggest banks in Southeast Asia, with a net profit of 1.98 billion USD and total assets of over 203 billion USD in 2019. 

With a market capitalization of over 23.7 billion USD in 2019, the bank is the biggest publicly traded corporation on the Malaysian stock exchange, Bursa Malaysia. Maybank Islamic, the bank’s Islamic banking subsidiary, was named The Banker's Global Islamic Bank of the Year for 2020, being the biggest Islamic bank in Malaysia and ASEAN by assets.

Maybank is also placed 106th in The Banker's 2020 Top 1000 World Banks and 349th in the Forbes Global 2000 Leading Companies.
